Planning Engineer

Planning Engineer required to work for Principal Contractor JV on the High Speed Rail Main Works Civils.

Contract - Inside IR35
Based North Acton/South Ruislip - Hybrid Working Arrangements

Previous Planning experience working on major rail/construction projects for Main Contractor required. Construction Planning experience.

Role Brief:
Support the Senior Planning Engineer to support the Asset team to manage the programme on one or more Assets as per the approved Planning Management Plan. Specifically help develop and monitor the programme, ensuring compliance with the organisation planning standards and client requirements to provide a safe, efficient and cost effective programme meeting all required access dates, milestones and key dates for multiple shaft sites in Tunnels & Shaft DU. The role will be reporting to the Senior Planning Engineer for Assets.

The Planning Engineer is responsible for:
-Assist the Senior Planning Engineer in development of the Asset Structure, Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), calendars and dates to be used by SCS, aligned with the Cost Break Down Structure (CBS) and Employer`s Data Dictionary.
-Ensuring the programme meets all required access dates, milestones and key dates in compliance with the Employer’s Planning requirements, contract data and works information.
-Contribute to assessment of programme risks and programme risk analysis, including development and implementation of mitigation measures.
-Progress monitoring and regular updating of the construction programme during Stage Two, including forecasting of potential problem areas and proposing mitigation measures to the Project Manager.

Required Qualifications & Skills
-Prior experience in planning function in civil engineering projects
-Knowledge of the development and implementation of Asset structures, Planning Standards, WBS and Planning processes in a BIM environment.
-Competence in Primavera P6 and other planning softwares.
-Knowledge of Safety, Environment and Risk Management
-Strong communication skills
