HR Assistant Role in an Independent Secondary School
An Independent Secondary School in Enfield is seeking to appoint a highly organised and personable HR Assistant to join its dedicated support team. About the Role
The successful candidate will provide day-to-day administrative support across the school's HR function, helping to ensure recruitment, onboarding, employee records, and compliance processes are completed accurately and efficiently.
Working closely with the HR Manager and senior leadership team, you will assist with recruitment campaigns, coordinate interviews, complete pre-employment checks, maintain confidential personnel records, prepare employment documentation, and respond to routine staff enquiries.
This varied role would suit an organised individual with excellent attention to detail who is looking to develop their career within HR.
Key Responsibilities
Provide administrative support across the HR function
Assist with recruitment, interview coordination, and onboarding
Complete and maintain pre-employment and safeguarding checks
Prepare contracts, offer letters, and HR correspondence
Maintain accurate and confidential employee records
Monitor staff training, qualifications, and compliance documentation
Support absence and leave administration
Assist with HR reports and general employee enquiries

Candidate Requirements
Essential Requirements
Previous experience in an HR, administration, or office-based role
Excellent organisational and communication skills
Strong attention to detail
Confident using Microsoft Office and HR systems
Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
Desirable
Experience working within a school or educational environment
Knowledge of safer recruitment procedures
CIPD Level 3 qualification or willingness to work towards one
Experience using HR information systems
