Drama Teacher

An enthusiastic and skilled Drama Teacher is required for a temporary full-time position at an Outstanding mixed school in Islington, commencing as soon as possible. This is an exciting opportunity to inspire students across Key Stages 3 and 4 (aged 11-16) to develop their performance skills, creativity, and self-expression within a supportive and high-achieving environment in central London.

Responsibilities

• You will plan and deliver engaging Drama lessons that explore a range of theatrical techniques, texts, and performance styles.
• The role involves fostering students' confidence, communication, and collaborative skills through active participation in dramatic activities.
• You will cultivate a stimulating and inclusive studio environment where every student feels empowered to take risks, explore their creativity, and develop their individual talents.

Requirements

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent with a specialism in Drama or a closely related subject is essential.
• Experience teaching engaging and effective Drama lessons at Key Stages 3 and 4 is highly desirable.
• A strong understanding of dramatic theory and practice, coupled with the ability to inspire students and facilitate creative exploration, is expected.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, alongside strong classroom management and the ability to create a positive and supportive atmosphere, are vital.
