An independent school in Wandsworth is seeking a confident and analytical Economics Teacher to join its Business and Economics provision. Teaching Economics at KS5, with KS4 Business teaching potentially available
Location: Wandsworth
Salary: MPS1–UPS3
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Start Date: ASAP
You will deliver structured lessons covering key economic principles and their practical applications. Topics may include supply and demand, market failure, inflation, unemployment, economic growth, fiscal policy and international trade, depending on the specification taught.
Students will develop their ability to interpret economic data, construct diagrams, evaluate policy decisions and build clear, evidence-based arguments. You will use contemporary examples to help pupils understand how economic developments affect consumers, businesses and the wider economy.
The role will involve planning lessons, marking written work, preparing students for examinations and tracking progress. You will support students in developing the analytical and evaluative skills required for success at A-Level.

Economics Teacher – Experience and Qualifications
Degree in Economics or a related subject
QTS or recognised teaching qualification
Experience teaching Economics at secondary level
A-Level Economics experience
Strong knowledge of economic theory and policy
Ability to teach data interpretation and economic diagrams
Excellent analytical and written communication skills
Strong classroom management
Effective planning and assessment
Ability to prepare students for examinations
Commitment to high academic standards
Salary
The salary will be paid to scale on MPS/UPS, depending on experience and qualifications.
