A successful girls’ secondary school in Bexley is seeking a part-time Science Technician to join its Science Department ASAP. The role is ideal for someone who enjoys practical science and wants to work closely with teachers and students.
The Role
Lesson preparation: Prepare practical equipment and materials before lessons.
Laboratory support: Assist teachers during practical activities where required.
Equipment maintenance: Check, clean and safely store scientific equipment.
Chemical management: Assist with the safe storage and handling of chemicals.
Stock management: Monitor supplies and inform the Senior Technician when replenishment is required.
Laboratory organisation: Ensure preparation rooms and laboratories remain orderly.
The Candidate
Practical experience: Experience in a laboratory or educational setting is advantageous.
Science interest: A genuine interest in supporting practical Science education.
Careful worker: Able to follow instructions and safety procedures precisely.
Organised: Comfortable preparing several practical activities in advance.
