Technical Architect
JOB DESCRIPTION
The team you'll be working with:
Our Public Sector Business Unit is growing rapidly, and we are looking for an experienced Technical Architect to join our expanding team delivering high-impact digital and data transformation for UK Government clients.
You will work in multi-disciplinary squads alongside architects, product owners, designers and data specialists, shaping and engineering secure, resilient services that matter to millions of people. We operate in an open, high-trust environment that values collaboration, continuous learning and diversity of thought.
For this role you will have to be eligible for Security Clearance, if not already cleared .
What you'll be doing:
- Architect and design scalable, robust, and secure technical solutions aligned with business goals.
- Lead and manage development teams, ensuring best practices in software development, quality, and delivery.
- Collaborate closely with stakeholders, business analysts, product owners, and cross-functional teams to understand requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Provide holistic oversight and governance across multiple programmes and projects, ensuring consistency and alignment with enterprise architecture.
- Act as a technical mentor and coach for development teams, fostering a collaborative and productive environment.
- Stay hands-on by actively participating in software development, coding, code reviews, and troubleshooting.
- Build and maintain strong relationships across technical and non-technical teams to ensure smooth delivery and adoption of solutions.
- Drive continuous improvement in architecture, development processes, and delivery methodologies.
- Ensure solutions comply with security, compliance, and performance standards.
What experience you'll bring:
- Proven experience as a Technical Architect, Solution Architect, or similar role.
- Strong software development background with hands-on coding experience (e.g., Java, .NET, Python, or relevant tech stack).
- Demonstrated ability to manage and lead development teams effectively.
- Deep understanding of programme and project management principles and lifecycle.
- Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills; able to work effectively with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and modern architecture patterns (microservices, APIs, event-driven).
- Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices.
