Senior Product Owner
At Hometrack, we help the UK’s leading lenders, brokers, and financial institutions make smarter decisions with data. Our reporting and MI products are at the centre of that mission, delivering the dashboards, insights, and data quality our customers rely on every day.
We’re looking for a Senior Product Owner – Data & Reporting to drive efficient and effective delivery of our MI and reporting products. You’ll work hand-in-hand with engineers and analysts to prioritise, scope, and deliver reporting features that meet customer and internal needs. With your strong background in data and MI, you’ll ensure reporting requirements are clearly defined, data quality is assured, and delivery stays on track.
This role is all about turning requirements into working solutions—making sure we deliver the right thing, the right way, at the right time.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage directly with customers to understand their reporting and insight needs, ensuring solutions add real value and are easy to use.
- Translate customer reporting needs into detailed, unambiguous requirements with clear acceptance criteria.
- Own the delivery backlog for reporting and MI products, capturing requirements, writing user stories, setting priorities, and managing tickets through to completion.
- Coordinate timelines and releases, ensuring analysts and engineers are working to clear goals and delivery milestones.
- Work closely with internal stakeholders (commercial, product, analytics) to refine requirements, manage expectations, and communicate progress.
- Oversee data validation and quality checks, ensuring delivered dashboards and reports are accurate and reliable.
- Support analysts and engineers by removing blockers, clarifying requirements, and making delivery decisions quickly.
- Track progress and report delivery status, keeping all stakeholders aligned and confident in delivery timelines.
- Champion best practice in MI/dashboard delivery balancing usability, performance, and scalability.
- Support the strategic direction and decisioning around MI reporting and data visualisation
About you
- Proven experience as a Product Owner, Delivery Lead, Data Analyst or similar role in a data focused environment.
- Strong understanding of Data manipulation and MI/reporting tools (e.g. Databricks, Tableau, PowerBI, SQL).
- Familiarity with cloud services platforms, preferably AWS and Microsoft Azure.
- Able to clearly communicate your findings to a business audience and challenge colleagues on taking data driven decisions. You’ll do this with your natural data analytics and creative problem skills, with an ability to organise yourself and project manage pieces of work end to end.
- A positive, collaborative mindset and a desire to deliver real business value to the customer
- Demonstrated ability to manage timelines, prioritise work, and deliver against deadlines.
- Experience working closely with data engineers and analysts, with a good grasp of data validation, data pipelines, and quality checks.
- Strong stakeholder management skills—able to manage competing demands and communicate progress clearly.
- Highly organised, detail-oriented, and delivery-focused, with a track record of ensuring smooth and predictable releases.
Behaviours we admire
- Ability to learn quickly, adjust to changes and think outside the box
- Excellent time management and organisational skills
- Ability to easily build relationships with both colleagues and clients
- Confidence presenting data analysis to technical and non-technical audiences
- Naturally curious to find better and simpler ways to tackle different tasks
- Keen interest in the property and mortgage markets
