The FREELANCE, LEAD 2D ARTIST ROLE at BLACK KITE

As Lead 2D Artist at Black Kite, you are responsible for delivering creative excellence from pitch through to delivery. Using your deep working knowledge of the VFX pipeline, you will provide technical and creative leadership to the team working across the 2D pipeline, on a broad range of high end VFX projects. You will collaborate with the VFX Supervisors and Producers to deliver outstanding VFX work on time and on budget.

Your responsibilities include:

• Collaborate with VFX Supervisors to develop and implement creative and technical solutions for the 2D requirements across a range of VFX projects.

• Create OUTSTANDING creative work

• Lead teams of 2D artists to success across a wide range of high end VFX projects.

• Work with the Production team to pitch for and win projects whilst seeking opportunities to develop client relationships.

• Shoot Supervision, ensuring that we capture all data that is required whilst providing an excellent experience for our clients.

• Support and mentor our creative talent.

• Deliver client feedback clearly and constructively to your team.

• Deliver projects that look visually outstanding on time and on budget.

• Inspire a culture of creative innovation.

• You are a brand ambassador for BLACK KITE

Why YOU?

• You have experience delivering outstanding VFX work in Commercials

• You have experience leading or supervising teams of 2D artists to success

• You have a great understanding of the whole VFX pipeline

• You have production experience with both Nuke and Flame

• You have on-set VFX supervision experience

• You have experience dealing with high profile clients and Directors and are motivated to develop this further

• You understand 2D workflows and have working knowledge of Nuke

• You are a great problem solver and enjoy troubleshooting

• You are a team-player with a positive can-do attitude

• You are a confident communicator

• You are passionate about providing creative solutions and delivering creative excellence.
