This role will provide exposure to a broad range of UK corporate tax and transaction tax matters, offering an excellent opportunity to develop technical expertise while building a strong internal and external network.

Requirements

Our Tax Services team is looking for an Assistant Manager to support across all aspects of UK corporate tax and transaction tax advisory. The role will involve supporting restructuring and advisory teams on tax-related matters including tax compliance, while also providing transaction tax support to a growing client base, including M&A, refinancing, and corporate restructuring projects.

• Supporting clients and colleagues on a wide range of UK corporate tax matters.
• Assisting with transaction tax engagements, including tax due diligence, tax structuring, and tax risk assessments for acquisitions and disposals.
• Advising on corporate reorganisations, restructuring projects, and refinancings.
• Supporting restructuring and insolvency teams on tax considerations arising from formal and informal restructuring processes including tax compliance.
• Assisting in the delivery of tax advice related to mergers, acquisitions, carve-outs, and other corporate transactions.
• Preparing technical tax analyses, reports, and client-facing presentations.
• Managing day-to-day client relationships and coordinating the delivery of projects.
• Supporting the development and mentoring of junior members of the team.
• Assisting senior team members with business development initiatives, proposals, and thought leadership activities.

• You will be expected to, where possible, use AI or data tools to improve the efficiency of research, drafting or review.
• Participation in activities and events designed to enhance cultural awareness across the firm.

Requirements

Successful candidates will demonstrate a combination of strong technical capability, commercial awareness, and the ability to build trusted relationships with clients and colleagues.

• CTA and/or ACA qualified, or equivalent (including legally qualified candidates with relevant tax experience).
• Strong UK Corporate Tax experience gained within a professional services, tax advisory, or accounting environment.
• Experience supporting transaction tax engagements, including tax due diligence, M&A transactions, and corporate restructurings.
• Strong understanding of UK corporation tax legislation and practical application.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the confidence to engage effectively with clients and internal stakeholders.
• Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.
• A collaborative approach and the ability to perform effectively within a dynamic and growing team environment.
• Experience working with private equity-backed businesses, mid-market clients, or multinational groups would be advantageous.
