Purpose of the Role
The purpose of this role is to deliver high-quality cleaning services across 11–12 St James, ensuring the building is consistently maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and presentation. The Cleaning Operative will support the smooth day-to-day operation of the building by creating a safe, welcoming, and professional environment for all occupants, visitors, and clients.
This role is essential in upholding Workforce+ and Savills service standards, ensuring all cleaning tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and in line with site-specific procedures, risk assessments, and best practices.
Key Responsibilities
Carry out daily cleaning duties across all designated areas, including offices, meeting rooms, reception, washrooms, kitchens, stairwells, and communal spaces.
Ensure all washrooms are fully stocked, clean, and maintained to high hygiene standards.
Follow colour-coding systems, COSHH procedures, and agreed cleaning schedules.
Use approved materials, chemical sachet systems, and equipment safely and correctly.
Respond promptly to any reactive cleaning requests from the site team or supervisor.
Ensure waste is collected, segregated, and disposed of in line with site recycling and waste procedures.
Carry out touchpoint cleaning throughout the day as required.
Participate in periodic deep cleaning tasks as requested.
Maintain cleaning cupboards, equipment, and storage areas in a tidy and compliant manner.
Report any maintenance issues, hazards, or incidents immediately to the Supervisor.
Follow all health & safety guidelines, completing tasks in line with training received.
Support the wider cleaning team to achieve consistent standards across the building.
Provide excellent customer service when interacting with tenants, staff, and visitors.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience
Essential
Previous cleaning experience (commercial or corporate environment preferred).
Understanding of cleaning methods, equipment, and colour-coding systems.
Basic knowledge of COSHH and safe chemical handling (training provided).
Ability to work independently with good time management.
High attention to detail and pride in work standards.
Reliable, punctual, and committed to delivering quality service.
Desirable
Experience working in high-end or customer-facing environments.
Knowledge of washroom maintenance and consumable management.
Familiarity with Workforce+ / Savills cleaning standards (or willingness to learn).
Working Hours - Part-time, 10:00 – 14:00 – Monday to Friday
Salary - £14.00 Per hour
