As the Product owner you will work with A&I leadership to co-develop the vision, strategy, and roadmap for the team and will take full ownership of the product roadmap and backlog, working closely with engineers, analysts, data scientists and business stakeholders to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality data products. You will be responsible for translating business requirements into actionable product features, prioritising initiatives, and ensuring alignment with organisational goals.

What You will do

Product Vision, Strategy & Roadmap

• Develop and execute a comprehensive product strategy and roadmap for data engineering, reporting for the Finance & Regulatory domains.
• Proactively align product development with OBG and A&I's objectives, ensuring a measurable contribution to business goals and value creation.
• Establish and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure product success and drive continuous improvement.

Stakeholder Engagement & Requirements Management

• Collaborate with stakeholders across Finance, Legal, Regulatory and Compliance to understand data needs and translate them into actionable product requirements.
• Advocate for a user-centric approach, ensuring that data products are intuitive and meet the needs of diverse end users.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders, providing regular updates on roadmap progress, priorities, and product outcomes.

Delivery Management & Agile Execution

• Take full ownership of the product backlog and support backlog refinement and sprint planning with delivery teams.
• Liaise with delivery leads and business stakeholders to manage inflight work, new business initiatives, and efficient backlog prioritisation.
• Identify and escalate potential issues, risks, or defects, supporting remediation through the delivery team's backlog.

Data Quality, Governance & Compliance

• Ensure all data products comply with OBG's data governance, security, and regulatory standards.
• Identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with regulatory compliance and data quality to safeguard the organisation's interests.
• Work closely with platform and engineering teams to ensure the robustness, auditability, and reliability of financial and regulatory data pipelines.

Innovation & Continuous Improvement

• Foster a culture of experimentation and innovation, encouraging the team to explore new ideas and emerging technologies.
• Support integration of AI capabilities into data products to enhance insight delivery and user experience.
• Maintain a deep understanding of the finance, regulatory, and operations landscape, offering guidance and mentorship to the broader team.

Your Experience

Essential Skills

• Proven experience as a Product Owner, with a focus on data engineering and reporting within the finance and/or regulatory domains.
• Strong experience with data engineering concepts and technologies, including proficiency in SQL and experience with tools such as Power BI.
• Demonstrated success in managing complex product lifecycles from ideation through to delivery and support.
• Proficient in Agile methodologies, with hands-on experience managing sprints, backlogs, and collaborative delivery processes.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in regulatory reporting, financial operations, or risk management within a data-driven organisation.
• Familiarity with data warehousing, metadata management, and collaboration with platform or infrastructure teams to ensure enterprise-grade data solutions.

Soft Skills

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach to decision-making.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, enabling effective collaboration with technical and business stakeholders.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to balance short-term priorities with long-term business outcomes.
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and managing multiple priorities with confidence and clarity.
