The Role

We are seeking a dynamic and customer-focused Product Lead to join So Energy, reporting to the Director of Technology. In this key role, you will lead a group of Product Managers within a product vertical, collaborating closely with engineering, various business functions, and cross-functional teams to deliver innovative, data-driven, and value-focused solutions that align with our business goals. You will be responsible for driving strategic product outcomes, enhancing digital experiences, and fostering a high-performing, customer-centric culture within your team.

This role requires a strategic thinker with a strong data-driven mindset, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to navigate between high-level vision and tactical execution to deliver impactful customer experiences.


Your Impact

In this ownership-oriented, customer-centric role, you will drive So Energy’s product strategy and execution for your vertical. By defining and delivering impactful solutions, enhancing digital experiences, and collaborating across teams, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the future of our customer journeys while continuously improving So Energy’s offerings.

What you’ll be getting up to in this role:

  • Define and maintain a clear product vision and strategy aligned with the company’s business goals and technology direction.
  • Embed customers at the heart of product decisions, using qualitative and quantitative data to identify needs and solve problems.
  • Own the product lifecycle from ideation to delivery, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Prioritise initiatives and ideas based on value and impact, articulating clear rationale for decisions.
  • Manage and mentor a team of Product Managers, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and high performance.
  • Partner with engineering, design, and data teams to deliver impactful features that meet customer and business needs.
  • Leverage analytics, performance metrics, and optimisation tools to guide decisions and measure impact.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, acting as an advocate for customer needs and aligning initiatives with business goals.
  • Champion Agile methodologies to ensure fast, high-quality product delivery.
  • Adapt to evolving priorities and business needs, ensuring timely and effective solutions.
  • Inspire innovation and continuous improvement within your product domain, acting as an ambassador for the wider product community at So Energy.

You’re a great match if:

  • Proven experience leading a Product function, with a focus on delivering measurable business impact.
  • Strong leadership skills with experience managing and mentoring Product Managers and working with cross-functional teams, including engineering, design, sales, marketing, and various business functions.
  • Expertise in digital product management, with a track record of improving user experiences, driving customer engagement, and enhancing customer satisfaction.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with a data-driven mindset. Experience using optimisation and journey analysis tools to inform product decisions.
  • You are comfortable with the ambiguity that comes from working in a fast-paced environment, highly matrixed environment and adaptable to changing market needs
  • Strong ability to communicate clearly and effectively with stakeholders at all levels, including executive leadership.
  • Passionate about customer-centric design, product marketing, and delivering exceptional user experiences.
  • Familiarity with Agile methodologies and practices, with hands-on experience in driving cross-functional collaboration.
  • Experience in the energy or a highly regulated industry is advantageous but not essential.
