Head of Growth (mat cover) - D2C beauty brand

Head of Growth | 12-month FTC (maternity cover) | London, hybrid | Up to £120k

A fast-growing, science-led DTC personal care business is looking for a Head of Growth to cover a 12-month maternity leave. You'll own how the business grows its profit, from winning new customers to keeping them, and you'll have the budget, the team and the backing to make real calls from day one.

This isn't a caretaker role. The business moves fast, makes decisions on evidence, and values people who are as good at deciding what to stop as what to start.

The role

You'll run the media budget and decide where the money goes, where to experiment and what to automate. You'll lead a team of five channel experts working across a portfolio of brands, and work closely with brand, product, copy, design and dev so customers see the right message at the right time.

You'll be responsible for:

• Growing profit through acquisition and retention across paid media, influencers, CRM and website experience

• Owning the media budget and optimising the channel mix for long-term profit and customer lifetime value, not sign-up volume

• Leading, developing and coaching a team of five

• Running hypothesis-led experiments across the funnel (ads, bidding, website), using AI to get from idea to result faster

• Deciding where AI and automation genuinely help and where they don't, then proving the automated version beats the manual one before it's scaled

• Briefing the influencer and CRM teams on strategy, budget and priorities

• Building campaigns with the brand team that land with customers

• Keeping a sharp, current read on the market, customers and competitors

• Working with leadership on where the business grows next

What you'll bring

• You've grown an eCommerce business before, leading a growth team, and you want to do it again

• Hands-on experience across the main digital channels, and you're happy to get stuck in alongside your team

• You think in lifetime value, not first orders

• Strong analytical skills. You build your own analysis and financial models in Excel and/or SQL

• Experience in businesses where experiments drove decisions and sensible risks were encouraged

• You already use AI for analysis, reporting and creative, and you can tell where it adds value and where it quietly makes things worse

• You focus on what moves the numbers, not what fills a sprint

• A clear, honest communicator who can make decisions in ambiguity, explain why, and bring people with you

The package

• Salary up to £120k

• Hybrid: in the West London office Monday, Tuesday and Friday, remote Wednesday and Thursday
