Manager/Associate Director - Commercial Due Diligence
Job Description
Manager/Associate Director - Commercial Due Diligence
A leading global consultancy firm is seeking a Manager or Associate Director to join its London-based team. This is a key hire as the firm continues to strengthen its UK presence and expand its global investigative capabilities. You will join an established, internationally connected business with access to a global human source network. The role offers exposure to complex commercial and regulatory intelligence assignments for private equity and multinational corporate clients across multiple sectors and geographies.
The Role
You will independently manage strategic investigations from scoping, through to client delivery.
This includes defining lines of inquiry, assessing commercial, regulatory and political risks, and structuring investigative approaches. You will identify and engage relevant human sources, oversee open-source research, and ensure high standards of analytical rigour throughout. You will lead high-pressure client interactions, including briefings to deal teams, legal advisers and C-suite executives. The role combines structured analysis, sound professional judgement and clear communication tailored to commercial audiences.
Projects are often fast paced and time sensitive. You will be expected to take ownership of delivery, manage analysts, and produce clear, narrative-driven written reports that synthesise intelligence into practical insight.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and run strategic intelligence investigations covering commercial, policy, and regulatory matters.
- Structure and drive lines of inquiry based on risk and opportunity assessment.
- Assess credibility and provenance of intelligence gathered.
- Deliver verbal briefings to senior commercial audiences.
- Draft clear, structured written reports with practical conclusions.
- Contribute to the development of the firm’s global intelligence source network.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of 3 years’ professional services experience, including at least 2 years leading consulting work-streams or managing projects in business intelligence, strategy, regulatory, political risk or geopolitical advisory.
- Strong commercial awareness with the ability to quickly understand a company’s business model, value chain and risk exposure.
- Experience producing commercial, regulatory or political analysis.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Sound professional judgement in project execution and client management.
What’s on Offer?
- Flexible hybrid working.
- 5% employer pension contribution.
- Private medical insurance covering medical, dental and mental health support for you and eligible family members.
- Life insurance at four times annual salary.
- 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays.
- "Cycle to Work" scheme.
- Enhanced maternity and paternity provisions.
This is a strong opportunity for an experienced consulting or intelligence professional to take on greater ownership within a high-quality platform operating at the intersection of commercial, regulatory and political risk.
