Associate Director – Markets and Securities Services Global Sustainability Solutions
Within HSBC Market & Securities Services (MSS) we are a specialised team providing leading sustainability solutions to our clients, supporting HSBC’s net zero ambitions and embedding sustainability into the core of how we do business in MSS.
The role will be in a front office environment and will require partnership across multiple internal stakeholders within MSS, such as Sales, Trading, Research, Legal and Compliance. This person will work closely with the MSS team and the broader HSBC Infrastructure Finance (HIF) & Sustainability team within Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB) to drive the delivery of sustainability solutions for HSBC clients.
In this role you wil l:
• Provide advice and transaction support to our global Sales and Structuring teams across all asset classes to deliver ESG and sustainability solutions for institutional and corporate clients
• Drive and support the development and expansion of MSS ESG and sustainability suite of products and services working with internal and external partners (e.g. structuring teams, index and data providers)
• Provide subject matter expertise for an internal and external audience
• Collaborate with internal and external partners on thought leadership events for clients on key sustainability topics and themes
• Represent MSS at internal and external/industry forums and working groups
• Work closely with broader HSBC Infrasstructure Finance & Sustainability teams in CIB, particularly on CIB’s distribution strategy to channel assets and private credit to both public and private sector clients
To be successful in this role you should meet the following requirements:
• Prior experience in sales, originate to distribute and financing highly preferred
• Prior experience or knowledge in ESG / sustainable investing (ESG data, ESG regulation, climate science, energy transition etc.), sustainable finance, financial markets
• Commercial experience with an ability to articulate financial market products to clients
• Critical thinking about financial markets and sustainability issues
• Intellectual curiosity and strong written and oral communication skills
• Adaptability across a wide range of sustainability related topics (e.g. greenwashing risk, climate risk, ESG regulations)
This role is based in London.
