An established and highly regarded independent firm of accountants, based in the City of London, is looking to appoint an experienced Private Client Tax Manager to join its growing tax team.

Crucially, this opportunity comes with a clear and committed pathway to Associate Director within just six months, subject to performance.

The Opportunity

This is much more than a traditional Tax Manager position. Alongside managing an established portfolio of personal tax clients, you will have the opportunity to influence the strategic direction of the department and play a key role in its continued development.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Managing and developing a portfolio of private clients, delivering high-quality personal tax compliance and advisory services.
• Reviewing work prepared by junior members of the team, ensuring technical accuracy and excellent client service.
• Supporting, mentoring and developing junior tax professionals.
• Building strong relationships with clients and identifying opportunities to provide additional advisory services.
• Working closely with the partners to drive the growth and development of the tax department.
• Contributing to strategic planning, business development and the broader commercial objectives of the firm.

About You

We are looking for an ambitious and commercially minded tax professional who is ready to move beyond the traditional Tax Manager remit.

Ideally, you will have:

• CTA qualification, or equivalent relevant experience.
• A strong background in private client/personal tax gained within an accountancy practice.
• Proven experience managing a portfolio of clients and supervising junior staff.
• Excellent communication skills and the confidence to build relationships with clients and colleagues.
• A strategic mindset, with the ambition to contribute to departmental growth and business development.
• A genuine desire to progress into a senior leadership position.
