Iconic Resourcing are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Debt Recovery Paralegal to join a dynamic and reputable commercial litigation team, recognised for their collaborative spirit and commitment to excellence. With a strong presence in Glasgow, you will report into the Debt Recovery Manager and manage a diverse caseload from initial client contact through to enforcement. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your skills in a supportive, fast-paced environment.
What You’ll Do
- Manage the full lifecycle of debt recovery cases, including pre-action correspondence, claim issuance, undefended litigation, and enforcement actions.
- Draft legal documents, claim forms, particulars of claim, letters of demand, final notices and liaise with courts on procedure and hearings.
- Maintain regular and clear communication with clients, advising on outcomes and next steps.
- Execute enforcement mechanisms such as bank and earnings arrestments.
- Keep meticulous case files, updated with communications, actions taken, and approaching deadlines.
- Collaborate closely with your team to ensure efficient case resolution.
Your Profile
- Previous experience as a paralegal in debt recovery, with strong knowledge of Scots law (e.g., Debtors (Scotland) Act 1987 and relevant Court rules).
- Experience managing undefended court actions from start to finish.
- Proficient with legal case management systems and court-compliant document preparation.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to explain complex legal matters clearly.
- Organised, detail-oriented, adept at managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
- Works well independently and as part of a team, maintaining client service excellence.
