Mobile Vehicle Technician – Service, Maintenance & Repair (SMR) Division
Join a leading motoring services organisation that is expanding its mobile repair offering. In this role you will deliver planned servicing and repairs directly to members’ driveways or workplace car parks – no emergency call‑outs, no unpredictable shifts, just a structured schedule and the tools you need to do the job right.
What You’ll Do
- Follow a clear digital schedule of pre‑booked appointments.
- Perform routine servicing and comprehensive diagnostics using advanced mobile equipment.
- Carry out in‑depth repairs normally completed in a workshop, adhering to the organisation’s safety standards.
- Provide members with advice, recommendations and safety checks based on your inspections.
- Order parts and coordinate support through the mobile service platform to ensure timely completion.
What We’re Looking For
- Level 2 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance (or equivalent).
- At least 2 years of experience as a vehicle technician working on light vehicles.
- A full UK driving licence with fewer than 6 penalty points.
- Strong problem‑solving skills and the ability to work independently.
- Excellent communication – you’ll be the face of the organisation to members on site.
Working Conditions
- Full‑time, 40 hours per week (core hours 8:30 am – 5:00 pm, with one Saturday in four).
- Competitive base salary of £45,370 (inclusive of London weighting where applicable).
- On‑target earnings up to £57,000 through bonuses and premium‑rate overtime.
- Guaranteed overtime option after the first month – work extra rest days at £30 per hour.
- Fully equipped mobile van, fuel card, uniform, complete tool set and advanced diagnostics provided from day one.
Benefits & Perks
- Holiday entitlement: 23 days per year (rising to 25 with service) plus bank holidays.
- Pension scheme: up to 6.5 % employer‑matched contributions.
- Life assurance: cover up to 4 × salary (optional 10 × with flex benefits).
- Wellbeing support: 24/7 confidential assistance for you and household members aged 16 +.
- Financial perks: access to a salary‑sacrifice scheme (including electric‑vehicle options) after 12 months, delivering tax savings.
- Discount portal: exclusive deals on retailers, holidays, tools, tech and more.
- Colleague Share Scheme: automatic enrolment after probation, giving you a stake in the organisation’s success.
- Paid family leave, flexible scheduling and resources to support work‑life balance.
Opportunities for Growth
The SMR division is fast‑growing, offering you the chance to develop new skills in electric‑vehicle technology, advanced diagnostics and customer service. Ongoing training and clear career pathways are built into the role, helping you progress within a trusted national organisation.
Who Thrives Here?
If you enjoy independence, variety and the satisfaction of helping people stay on the move, this role is for you. You’ll combine technical expertise with strong people skills, delivering high‑quality service in a supportive, structured environment.
