Head of CAPEX - Construction/Asset Management - London (hybrid) - £80,000 - £100,000

I am working with a leading construction/asset management business looking for a Head of Capex to join the London team in a global role.
Your new role
As Head of Capex, you will take ownership of the company’s capital investment portfolio, ensuring that all major projects are effectively prioritised, justified and executed.Key responsibilities include:

• Developing the multi‑year capital investment strategy, aligned to commercial growth and asset lifecycle priorities
  
• Leading the annual capex planning process, including scenario modelling and portfolio optimisation
  
• Managing governance across all investment activity, ensuring clear processes, approval discipline and financial transparency
  
• Evaluating business cases for fleet acquisition, refurbishment programmes, depot upgrades and technology improvements
  
• Overseeing project delivery performance, ensuring investments are completed on time, on budget and to specification
  
• Working closely with Operations, Asset Management, Finance and Procurement to balance capacity, quality and ROI
  
• Driving continuous improvement in fleet utilisation, lifecycle optimisation, standardisation and sustainability outcomes
  This is a visible, commercially impactful role with regular interaction at executive level.
  

What you'll need to succeed

• Extensive experience managing capex programmes in an asset‑intensive environment (modular buildings, construction, rental, engineering, logistics, equipment or similar)
• Strong financial modelling skills and understanding of ROI, NPV, IRR and portfolio analysis
• Proven capability in capital planning, governance, and large‑scale project oversight
• Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to operate confidently at Board and Executive level
• A strategic mindset combined with hands‑on delivery focus
