Assistant Technical Manager
- Annual Salary: £38,000 - £40,000
- Location: Park Royal, London
- Job Type: Full-time, 8-month fixed term contract
- Maintain, develop, and implement all sections of the Quality Assurance, Quality Management, and HACCP systems to ensure the production of safe, legal, and authentic products.
- Conduct thorough inspections and audits to ensure adherence to food safety standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address quality issues and drive continuous improvement.
- Maintain records as required by HACCP & CCPs and ensure good hygiene standards across all factories.
- Manage CCP verification and validation, Micro schedule, and site taste panel.
- Maintain the traceability system for any product produced.
- Manage A la Calc Recipe Analysis and Nutrition Fact Labelling.
- Create, update, and maintain specs including for retailers.
- Conduct internal audits (PRP/GMP/SOP), communicate results with the site team, and participate in HACCP, TACCP, and VACCP teams.
- Assist the Technical Manager with third-party & external audits (BRC/EFSIS).
- Ensure all incoming goods conform to standards required by the company's HACCP and that all outgoing goods are of sound quality.
- Manage QC/QA functions and investigate, report on customer complaints & trend analysis.
- Degree in Food Science or Technology or equivalent.
- Higher standard training in Food Hygiene and HACCP.
- Knowledge of practical statistics for process control and analysis.
- Experience with internal auditor training.
- Retailer specification and database handling experience.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially PowerPoint and Excel.
- Ability to manage technical agendas at senior levels and continually strive for product excellence.
