English Teacher - Independent Girls’ School in Birmingham
An excellent opportunity has arisen for an English Teacher to join a highly respected independent girls’ school in Birmingham. This is a full-time role beginning in January, teaching across KS3–KS5 (GCSE and A-Level English Literature and Language). The successful candidate will be joining a forward-thinking English department with a strong tradition of academic excellence.

English is one of the school’s flagship subjects. Results are consistently impressive: in 2023, 85% of pupils achieved grades 7–9 at GCSE English, and 88% of A-Level students achieved grades A*–B. Beyond the classroom, the subject is central to the school’s cultural life, with regular debating competitions, theatre trips, and student-led creative writing groups.
Requirements
• Qualified English Teacher with QTS (PGCE, QTLS or equivalent considered)
• Strong subject knowledge across GCSE and A-Level Literature and Language
• Ability to inspire, challenge and support high-achieving pupils
• Organised, enthusiastic and committed to excellent teaching and learning
• Legal right to work in the UK

This role is paid to scale on MPS/UPS, with potential independent school enhancements for the right candidate.
