Primary Teaching Assistant
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Primary Teaching Assistant for a full-time, long-term supply position based in Romford, starting after February half-term. This role offers consistency and the opportunity to become an integral part of the school community, supporting pupils within a mainstream classroom setting.
About the role
As a Primary Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with the class teacher to support teaching and learning across the curriculum. You will provide in-class support, work with small groups or individual pupils, and help ensure that all students are able to access lessons effectively. This role is ideal for someone who is committed, patient, and keen to make a positive impact over a sustained period.
Key Responsibilities
Supporting the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom management
Working with pupils on a one-to-one basis or in small groups
Assisting with the implementation of learning activities and interventions
Supporting pupils’ social, emotional, and academic development
Helping to maintain a calm, positive, and inclusive learning environment
Providing feedback to teaching staff on pupil progress and engagement

Requirements
To be considered for the role of Primary Teaching Assistant you will:
- Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant in a mainstream school
- A calm, supportive, and proactive approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to a full-time, long-term placement
- Relevant qualifications or training are desirable but not essential
Salary is dependent on experience, training or qualifications. The minimum experience, training or qualifications required for this position are:
- Years of prior school-based experience
- Any relevant qualifications
- Right to work in the UK
