Lead the Day-to-Day Running of a Busy School Site in Croydon
Location: Croydon, South London
Start: ASAP
Contract: Permanent, Full-Time
Hours: 36 hours per week, Monday–Friday
Salary: £38,000–£41,000 per annum
A thriving school in Croydon is looking for an experienced Site Manager to take responsibility for the maintenance, security and smooth running of its premises. This is a hands-on management role for someone who can keep a busy school site safe, organised and ready for learning.
⚠️ Previous Site Management Experience Essential
You should have experience managing school premises or a similar facilities environment, with the practical skills and confidence to oversee maintenance work, contractors and site staff.
What You'll Be Responsible For
Managing the daily opening, closing and security of the school site.
Overseeing planned maintenance, repairs and site inspections.
Coordinating contractors, obtaining quotes and monitoring completed work.
Supervising caretaking and cleaning staff where applicable.
Ensuring health and safety procedures, fire checks and risk assessments are up to date.
Maintaining accurate records of inspections, repairs and compliance checks.
Supporting room setups, school events and lettings outside normal school hours.
Monitoring site supplies, equipment and maintenance budgets.
About You
You will be organised, practical and confident prioritising urgent issues while planning longer-term maintenance. Strong communication skills and a sound understanding of health and safety are essential.
Experience with facilities management systems and contractor supervision would be an advantage. An enhanced DBS check will be required.
