👥 HR Manager - Westminster | Secondary School

Westminster | ⏰ ASAP Start | Temporary to Permanent | Monday–Friday, 8:30am–4:30pm | Term Time Only | £45,000–£52,000 FTE

A secondary school in Westminster is looking for an experienced HR Manager to join its team on a temporary-to-permanent basis.

Working closely with the HR Assistant, you’ll take responsibility for the day-to-day HR function and provide practical support to staff and senior leaders across the school.

The Role

You’ll be involved across the full employee lifecycle, including:

• Managing recruitment, onboarding and safer recruitment checks.

• Providing advice on employee relations, absence and performance matters.

• Supporting disciplinary, grievance and capability processes.

• Maintaining accurate personnel records and HR systems.

• Overseeing the Single Central Register and HR compliance.

• Supporting contracts, variations and staff changes.

• Monitoring absence and supporting return-to-work processes.

• Advising managers on HR policies and employment legislation.

• Working alongside the HR Assistant on day-to-day HR administration.

About You

We’re looking for someone with previous HR Manager or senior HR experience, ideally within a school or education setting.

You’ll need good knowledge of employment law, strong communication skills and the confidence to deal with sensitive employee matters professionally.

A CIPD qualification or equivalent HR experience would be expected, alongside a good understanding of safeguarding and safer recruitment.
