Business Development Associate
43601
We are partnering with a leading global asset manager known for its commitment to professional development, flexible working practices, and a collaborative culture that supports long-term career progression. They are looking to appoint a Business Development Associate sitting within a high-performing UK wholesale distribution team. This person will provide critical pre- and post-sales support to a wide range of professional investors, including wealth managers, private banks, global financial institutions, model portfolio providers, advisers, platforms, and strategic accounts.
This opportunity offers broad exposure across sales, client servicing, product, and marketing, making it a strong opportunity for someone with early experience in asset management who is looking to develop into a client-facing or business development career path. You will work closely with senior Business Development Directors, manage key distributor relationships, coordinate materials for meetings, support due diligence processes, and help drive both new business activity and the retention of existing assets.
The successful candidate will be involved in:
- Providing pre- and post-sales support for Business Development Directors across wholesale client segments
- Managing client inquiries through shared inboxes, Teams, phone, and direct communication
- Preparing and coordinating materials for client meetings, including presentations, analysis, and follow-up actions
- Attending or hosting client meetings to support lead development, servicing of existing assets, and product approval discussions
- Developing a strong understanding of the firm’s products and services to communicate effectively with clients
- Maintaining accurate sales and client data in Microsoft Dynamics, including activity notes, mailing lists, and reporting
- Supporting completion of RFPs, DDQs, and due diligence materials in collaboration with internal teams
- Sourcing and review competitor analysis to support sales strategy and client discussions
- Maintaining sales pipeline records, build account plans, and support development of growth strategies
- Monitoring client and market news to inform engagement plans
The ideal candidate will have:
- Prior experience in a client-facing or sales support role within asset management preferred
- Interest in acquiring IMC if not already attained (study support provided)
- Strong skills across Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, and Word
- Proactive, organised, and capable of managing multiple priorities
- Excellent communication skills and strong interpersonal awareness
- Client-focused, solutions-oriented, and able to make independent decisions
- High attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work
