KS1 Teacher - Twickenham

Marchant Recruitment
Richmond, Greater London

We are seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated, and confident Key Stage 1 Teacher to join a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Twickenham, starting as soon as possible. This is a fantastic opportunity for a teacher who is passionate about early primary education and committed to helping pupils build strong foundations in literacy, numeracy, and social development.

The school has a strong community ethos and prides itself on providing a nurturing, structured, and engaging learning environment. Staff work collaboratively to share best practice and ensure high standards across the school. Senior leadership is supportive and approachable, offering mentoring, clear guidance, and ongoing professional development opportunities.

The Role

As a KS1 Teacher, you will be responsible for planning, delivering, and assessing high-quality lessons across the Key Stage 1 curriculum. You will create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where pupils feel safe, confident, and motivated to learn. A key part of the role is supporting pupils’ transition from EYFS into Key Stage 1 and ensuring learning is appropriately structured, engaging, and accessible.

You will work closely with teaching assistants, phase leaders, and senior leaders to support pupil progress and wellbeing. Effective communication with parents and carers is essential to ensure strong home–school partnerships and consistent support for pupils.

Key Responsibilities

  • Plan, deliver, and assess engaging lessons across the KS1 curriculum

  • Deliver effective phonics, literacy, numeracy, and foundation subject teaching

  • Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils, including SEND and EAL

  • Promote positive behaviour, independence, and resilience

  • Maintain a structured, inclusive, and well-organised classroom

  • Monitor pupil progress and maintain accurate assessment records

  • Work collaboratively with teaching assistants and KS1 colleagues

  • Communicate regularly with parents and carers regarding pupil progress

  • Contribute to staff meetings, CPD sessions, and whole-school initiatives

  • Ensure safeguarding and child protection policies are followed at all times

Who We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will:

  • Hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)

  • Have experience teaching in Key Stage 1

  • Demonstrate strong classroom management and organisational skills

  • Be nurturing, enthusiastic, and adaptable

  • Show a strong understanding of early primary teaching and learning

  • Be reflective and committed to professional development

  • Have a clear commitment to inclusion, safeguarding, and pupil wellbeing

Location

The school is based in Twickenham, with excellent transport links and a supportive local community. Staff benefit from a positive, professional working environment with a strong focus on collaboration and wellbeing.

How to Apply

To apply, please submit an up-to-date CV outlining your experience and suitability for the role.
