An established and forward-thinking accountancy firm is seeking a Senior Accountant to join their dynamic accounts team, working within a group that focuses on specialist projects, including clients in Crypto, Investment Trading, FinTech, and e-commerce .
What you will be doing as an Accounts Senior
- Act as the main point of contact for your portfolio of clients
- Prepare and review statutory accounts, management accounts, and corporate/personal tax returns
- Review and submit VAT returns
- Take ownership of key areas of financial files and ensure timely delivery
- Coach, train and mentor junior team members, supporting their professional development
- Collaborate closely with managers and partners, providing progress updates and escalating issues where appropriate
- Manage budgets and time recording efficiently, ensuring billing accuracy
- Build strong, long-lasting relationships with clients, offering insights and advice
- Maintain and grow technical knowledge through structured and on-the-job learning
- Contribute to process improvement, best practices, and quality control within the wider accounting function
What you will need to succeed as an Accounts Senior
- ACA or ACCA qualified (or equivalent international qualification)
- Minimum of 3 years' UK accountancy practice experience
- Expertise in FRS 102 Section 1A is essential
- Familiarity with FRS 102 full standard is advantageous
- Experience completing multiple statutory accounts to final sign-off
- Exposure to Crypto, Stripe, PRS, or e-commerce clients is a plus
- Confident handling VAT, corporate tax, and personal tax matters
- Strong technical accounting skills and knowledge of current standards
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to liaise directly with clients
- A proactive, collaborative mindset and a passion for team development
