Chief Technologist
The Role
For this role, we are looking for a strategic technologist responsible for defining and implementing a clear technology and industry positioning that differentiates the company in the market. They will develop high-value service offerings and partnerships that directly drive revenue growth while elevating the company’s technical brand through thought leadership and industry authority. The role will also institutionalize processes, structures, and innovation practices to ensure sustained business impact beyond the interim period.
What you will do
Technology Excellence
- Define and communicate a clear, forward-looking technology vision and service catalogue aligned to Zenitech’s business objectives (including analysis, improvement and roll out of current service delivery).
- Evaluate various industries and their technical landscape and define a forward-looking technology and industry vision that can create mid to long term business growth.
- Analyse current service delivery to identify the gap to vision.
- Build and maintain an ambitious value-driven technology roadmap to guide the evolution of our platforms, services, and capabilities.
- Evaluate and adapt emerging technologies to create broad business value & greater Zenitecher’s job satisfaction
- Drive architectural excellence, scalability, security, and sustainability across all technical solutions through working closely with the architects and competency centers' technical leadership.
- Inspire, and grow a high-performing technology culture focused on impact and results.
Industry Thought Leadership
- Maintain and grow a strong professional network with other technologists to stay ahead of trends and foster impactful partnerships.
- Represent the company in strategic client conversations.
- Promote technical excellence and thought leadership within the organization and the wider community.
Commercial & Stakeholder Engagement
- Work closely with the Commercial function to engage with clients and their delivery teams to understand needs and tailor Zenitech’s technical strategies accordingly.
- Act as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, both internally and externally.
- Support commercial growth through pre-sales support, solution architecture guidance, and client engagement.
Requirements
- 15+ years of experience in technologist roles, preferably within software or technology services.
- Proven experience developing and executing technology roadmaps and transformation strategies.
- Strong technical grounding in modern software development, architecture, and delivery practices.
- Commercial acumen and ability to balance innovation with business value.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills, including at board and executive levels.
- Demonstrated ability to challenge hype cycles with data-driven, rational approaches.
- Established network of peers in technology leadership, including CTO forums and industry groups.
- Experience scaling teams and technical functions in high-growth or transformation contexts.
- Deep understanding of emerging technologies (AI, cloud, edge computing, etc.) and their real-world application.
