Our commitment to Inclusion and Diversity We are committed to an inclusive hiring process, where every candidate has the chance to showcase their unique skills and experience in an accessible, and supported environment, to ensure that we can make the best appointment for each job on merit. We welcome applicants from all backgrounds and encourage those from underrepresented groups in this field to apply to us. We particularly want to achieve a better balance across our organisation between men and women, increase representation of people from black and ethnic minority backgrounds and attract more people with disabilities, including neurodiversity and health conditions. As part of this commitment, we particularly welcome applications from these communities. Apply to join our team and let's work towards building a diverse and inclusive workplace together. During the application form you will have the opportunity to let us know about any adjustments or additional support you may require, after which a member of the team will contact you ensure everything is put in place as you need. If you think you may need adjustments but aren't sure, or would like to further understand the process and discuss potential options, then please contact the team on or call us on [Telephone number removed] . Our networks At the Health Foundation we celebrate diversity, and have several networks which foster inclusion and allyship. Our networks are groups of colleagues, often with a shared identity such as a protected characteristic, heritage and/or experience who come together and support each other, which supports diversity and belonging in the organisation. All of our networks are spaces for peer support. Our networks also host their own events. A few examples include an all-Black panel event for Black History Month, marching in the official London Pride, insight hours on experiences of carers, hearing impaired speakers leading deaf awareness week events, mental health awareness week events that embed wellbeing, Trans speakers sharing expert insight on building gender inclusive health services and more. Communities also come together to celebrate wider cultural moments such as our annual Iftar meal and South Asian Heritage month Chai & Chaat. Our networks include

  • Black Diversity Group Network
  • LGBTQIA+ Network
  • Disability & Carers Network Group
  • Mental Health Network
Let us know if you'd like to learn more about networks. About the role As a Graduate Trainee, you will gain wide-ranging experience across the Health Foundation to obtain a thorough grounding in a respected think tank in the health and care charity sector. You will undertake project work as well as operational responsibilities. Graduate Trainees will undertake two placements in different directorates (Health, Innovation and Improvement, Policy, Research and Analytics, Communications, or Corporate Services) during the 12-month appointment to gain an in-depth understanding of how each area works and to give you time to immerse yourself within tasks and projects in each team. This will also allow you to gain broad experience of the Health Foundation, explore your areas of interest and discover what it's like to work in an independent charity. You will do this as part of a cohort of up to eight Graduate Trainees, receiving learning and development opportunities, detailed below, to support you throughout. We will give you the training and support you need to get involved in the day-to-day delivery of our work and support longer term projects. By the end of the programme, Graduate Trainees should be able to take on a substantive role with the necessary skills to develop a career within the health and care sector, and wider charity and not for profit sectors. Shortlisted candidates will have an opportunity to rank the placements in order of their preference in the final stage of the recruitment process. So, do please keep an open mind and remain flexible when applying throughout the recruitment process for this opportunity.
