Performance Manager - Digital Products

Working Pattern: Hybrid - 3 days per week on-site

We are recruiting a commercially minded Performance Manager to join a large international organisation and help improve the performance of a growing portfolio of digital products and services.

This is a high-impact role for someone who enjoys using data to answer important commercial and strategic questions.

Where is performance improving? What is driving growth? Where are customers disengaging? What should be measured? Where should investment be prioritised? How should products be priced and developed to deliver stronger customer and commercial outcomes?

The Performance Manager will work across product, marketing, sales, finance, operations and data teams, turning complex information into decision-ready insight and using that insight to influence what the organisation does next.

This is therefore considerably more than a reporting role.

Key Responsibilities

. Develop and maintain performance frameworks across digital products and services

. Define KPIs and measures aligned with business and product objectives

. Establish appropriate performance targets and success measures

. Analyse customer, product, marketing, operational and financial data

. Build a connected view of performance across products, customers, channels and markets

. Identify trends, risks, performance issues and growth opportunities

. Analyse customer acquisition, engagement and retention

. Identify opportunities to improve profitability and commercial performance

. Build, commission and improve dashboards and reporting for senior stakeholders

. Translate complex analysis into clear recommendations

. Use performance insight to influence business and leadership decisions

. Help senior stakeholders understand what data means and what action should follow

. Work with finance and business leaders on planning and forecasting

. Support ROI analysis, investment cases and benefit realisation

. Support pricing strategy and cost analysis

. Contribute to pricing decisions for products, propositions and new opportunities

. Identify underperformance and recommend appropriate interventions

. Monitor whether actions are delivering the expected impact

. Help teams prioritise activity based on commercial, operational and strategic evidence

. Improve the use of data within business decision-making

. Contribute to improvements in data quality, governance and reporting practices

. Support continuous improvement across performance management processes

Essential Skills and Experience

. Strong experience within performance analysis, business intelligence, data analysis or a related discipline

. Strong quantitative analysis skills

. Experience developing and tracking KPIs

. Experience establishing meaningful performance measures

. Experience analysing digital product, service or customer performance

. Proven ability to translate analysis into actionable commercial recommendations

. Experience using data to influence business decisions

. Strong understanding of how data can improve organisational or product performance

. Experience analysing commercial performance, customer behaviour or operational outcomes

. Experience creating dashboards or performance reporting

. Strong stakeholder management skills

. Proven ability to influence senior stakeholders

. Strong written and verbal communication skills

. Ability to explain complex information clearly to non-specialist audiences

. Strong commercial judgement

. Ability to work across multiple functions and manage competing priorities

. Good understanding of data privacy and security principles

Analytical and Technical Capability

This is not intended to be a deeply technical data engineering role, but candidates should have sufficient analytical capability to interrogate performance effectively.

Desirable Experience

. Experience within digital products, SaaS, subscription businesses or other data-rich environments

. Experience analysing pricing, profitability or investment decisions

. Experience within digital education, assessment or similar digital services

. Experience working across product, sales, marketing, finance and operations

. Experience within global or multicultural organisations

. Familiarity with Agile product development or product performance cycles

. Relevant data, analytics, data governance or cloud certifications

Candidate Profile

The strongest candidates will be able to demonstrate examples where analysis has directly influenced what an organisation did next.

You should be able to explain how you have identified poor or changing performance, established the right measures, worked with stakeholders to understand what was happening and used evidence to influence the actions taken.

This role particularly suits an analyst who wants to move beyond producing reports and dashboards into a position with greater commercial influence and senior stakeholder visibility.

Interview Process

The selection process is expected to consist of a one-hour panel interview.

Candidates will receive a task in advance and will be asked to prepare and discuss or present their response during the interview.

The assessment is expected to focus primarily on business impact, performance management, use of data, commercial thinking and stakeholder influence, alongside broader analytical capability.
