Mobile Electrical Engineer UCLH
Role statement
To provide all-round engineering support maintaining the infrastructure of the buildings, complying with the Health & Safety/building codes of practice, ensuring that any difficulties or abnormalities encountered on engineering activities are reported to the Contract Supervisor.
Maintain excellent standards of response to plant failures, completion of assigned work and ensure any abnormal operating conditions and housekeeping issues are dealt with proficiently.
The post holder may be required to perform duties other than those given in the job description for the post. The particular duties and responsibilities attached to posts may vary from time to time without changing the general character of the duties or the level of responsibility entailed.
Candidate must be available for an out of hours call out rota on a 1 week in 4 rotation
Duties
Ensure all record keeping functions are completed on a Daily basis, these will include but not be limited to the following:
- PPM completion
- Plant checks
- Completing reactive works
- Issue of work permits when required
- To be able to provide information to assist with the completion of reports.
- Health and Safety awareness of fellow personnel
- Awareness of the correct procedures set by the Client for response to the Building Codes
- HTM Compliance and agreement to gain AP in at least one discipline
Operation, trouble shooting and repair (where practicable) for the following:
- Building management systems
- Control systems (Lighting, BMS, etc.)
- Air conditioning systems, FCUs, splits, wet and dry systems
- AHU's variable speed
- Boilers and heating system
- Generators and controls
- AC and DC single phase and three phase power systems
- UPS system and assisted control system
- Emergency lighting
- HTM specific systems
- Healthcare environments
Skills
- Approved apprenticeship
- Demonstrate a good understanding and be technically competent in all building services, in particular UPS, generators, static switches, water treatment, refrigeration and air conditioning
- Strong communication skills and the ability to deal with all levels of staff, or difficult situations
Knowledge
- 18th Edition IEE: Wiring & Installation
- 2394 / 2395 electrical testing and inspection
- Previous experience within building maintenance and multi tenanted commercial buildings
