Roofing Estimator Job Overview

• Prepare detailed cost estimates, quantity take-offs, and bid submissions for commercial roofing and refurbishment contracts
• Conduct site surveys and analyse tender documentation, drawings, and specifications
• Develop professional proposals and presentations to support tender success
• Identify value-engineering and cost-saving opportunities while maintaining system integrity
• Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to enhance bidding capability
• Provide internal reporting on bid pipeline, margins, and performance against targets

Roofing Estimator Job Requirements

• Must have proven experience in the roofing sector.
• Technical knowledge of flat roofing, pitched roofing, heritage roofing, lead and liquid-applied systems
• Strong commercial awareness, numerical accuracy, and attention to margin control
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and take-off software
• Excellent communication skills for client liaison and supplier interaction
• Self-motivated with a methodical and structured work style
• Full UK Driving Licence and willingness to travel to site and client locations across London/South East
