Legal Counsel

A global leader in data analytics and market research is seeking a proactive and commercially astute Legal Counsel to join its in-house legal team on a permanent basis. This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of high-value commercial work while developing a broader in-house legal skillset.

Location: Farringdon, London

Working Pattern: Hybrid – 2 days in-office (Tuesday or Thursday fixed)

Start Date: End of November

The Role

The role centres on customer and supplier negotiations and commercial contracting. Over time, there is scope to expand into areas such as employment, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and broader legal advisory work, depending on business needs and your interests.

You’ll report directly to the General Counsel and be part of a collaborative, solution-oriented legal team that supports global commercial operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead legal support on global commercial deals, including drafting, reviewing, and negotiating customer contracts
• Attend and lead client and supplier negotiations
• Support procurement and advise on contract-related risk
• Maintain and improve global contract templates and integrate them into systems like Salesforce and DocuSign
• Identify and mitigate legal, financial, and operational risks
• Deliver training to global sales teams and contribute to legal resources
• Supervise a Legal Contracts Analyst based in Chicago
• Drive process improvements across legal operations

Candidate Profile

• UK-qualified solicitor or equivalent jurisdiction
• 2-3+ years’ PQE with strong commercial contracts experience (in-house or private practice)
• Experience working closely with sales teams and cross-functional stakeholders
• Strong commercial acumen and pragmatic approach to legal risk
• Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills
• Eager to grow within a dynamic in-house environment
• Experience in IP, corporate, or regulatory law is a plus but not essential
