Role Overview We are seeking a driven and detail-oriented Intermediate Estimator to join the Pre-Construction team. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing accurate and competitive cost estimates for Cat A and Cat B office fit-out projects, helping shape successful tender submissions and ensuring alignment with the company’s high standards. Key Responsibilities Prepare detailed cost estimates, budgets, and tender submissions for commercial office fit out and refurbishment projects.
Interpret architectural, structural, and M&E drawings to ensure full scope coverage.
Manage estimating workflows: tender reviews, material take-offs, subcontractor pricing, and commercial submissions.
Support bid strategy discussions with colleagues across Pre-Construction, Technical Services, and Commercial teams.
Work with supply chain partners to source competitive and compliant pricing.
Provide value engineering input and cost-saving recommendations without compromising quality or compliance.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure accuracy across procurement, programming, and construction plans.
Contribute to post-tender reviews, sharing insights to refine future estimates. Essential Skills & Experience 5–7 years’ experience in estimating fit-out or refurbishment projects within the commercial office sector.
Solid knowledge of Cat A and Cat B fit-out works and M&E installations.
Strong understanding of the full estimating lifecycle: measuring, bidding, subcontractor management, and cost control.
Proficiency in estimating software (e.g., CostX, Bluebeam, Estimator) and Microsoft Office.
Excellent numerical accuracy, attention to detail, and commercial awareness.
Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with clients, contractors, and internal teams.
Team player who thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment. Desirable Attributes Professional qualifications such as MRICS/ACostE or a degree in Quantity Surveying/Construction Management.
Experience with project management software (e.g., Procore, 1Breadcrumb). What’s on Offer Competitive salary of £65,000 – £70,000 per annum.
