Job Title: Tenancy Support Officer

Salary Range- £37,766- £45,763 per annum.

Permanent – Fulltime

Location – Wandsworth

We’re on the lookout for a motivated, compassionate, and proactive Tenancy Support Officer to join our high-performing team. You’ll play a vital role in delivering short-term, impactful support to Council tenants facing challenges in their tenancies.

About the role

What You’ll Do:

Provide tailored support, advice, and advocacy to help tenants manage rent, maximise benefits, and reduce anti-social behaviour.

Work closely with partner agencies to deliver holistic, person-centred support.

Create and manage support plans and risk assessments that promote independence and tenancy sustainability.

Keep accurate records and contribute to service improvement through data and insights.

What You Bring:

Experience working with vulnerable individuals (mental health, substance misuse, learning disabilities, care leavers, etc.).

Strong knowledge of local support services and the ability to navigate them effectively.

Excellent communication, organisation, and problem-solving skills.

Confidence using IT systems including Microsoft Word and Excel.

Essential Qualifications, Skills and Experience

  • Ability to attend meetings and case conferences, keeping abreast of all changes in legislation and other support agencies.
  • Experience of working with a range of vulnerable tenants from under 18‘s to the older person living in their own homes. Including tenants that are at risk of eviction.
  • Experience and knowledge of claiming benefits to maximise income on behalf of the tenants and offer advice to the Tenancy Support team and tenants alike.
  • Experience of effective Casework Management, Referral Processing, Assessment, Support Planning, providing tenancy advice and ability to appraise outcomes.
  • Ability to draft correspondence reports and collating and maintaining accurate statistics relating to the Tenancy Support work.
  • A general understanding of ‘safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults’ and its relevance to the service area and a willingness to attend training as required.
