Electrical Site Engineer

Job Description:

We're looking for an Electrical Site Engineer with 3+ years of experience supervising and coordinating electrical installation works across construction and renewable energy projects. Skilled in managing subcontractors, supporting commissioning activities, and ensuring electrical works are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with project specifications, RAMS, and industry standards.

Experienced in the installation and supervision of LV/MV systems, including cabling, terminations, inverters, transformers, switchgear, earthing, and grid-related infrastructure. Comfortable working in fast-paced site environments while coordinating with civil and mechanical teams to maintain progress and resolve site challenges effectively.

Key Responsibilities & Experience:
• Supervision of electrical subcontractors during installation of LV/MV cables, panels, switchgear, transformers, and inverter systems.
• Verification of cable routing, segregation, terminations, earthing, and bonding works to ensure compliance with technical standards.
• Review and interpretation of electrical drawings, cable schedules, single-line diagrams (SLDs), and installation details.
• Support of testing and inspection activities including insulation resistance tests, continuity checks, and commissioning preparation.
• Coordination of electrical activities alongside civil and mechanical work fronts to ensure smooth project execution.
• Monitoring subcontractor productivity, daily progress, and reporting delays or risks with mitigation proposals.
• Maintenance of quality records, testing documentation, and corrective action tracking.
• Support during energisation, pre-commissioning, and final handover activities.
• Strong focus on HSE compliance, electrical safety procedures, PPE usage, and safe systems of work.

Technical Knowledge:
• LV/MV electrical systems
• Electrical installation & commissioning
• QA/QC support and testing procedures
• IET Wiring Regulations & G99/G100 familiarity
• Cable schedules & technical drawings interpretation
• Site coordination & progress reporting

Professional Skills:
• Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering / Power Engineering
• Strong organisational and coordination abilities
• Detail-oriented with a proactive mindset
• Effective communication across multidisciplinary teams
• Problem-solving approach under site pressure
• Commitment to quality, safety, and project delivery
