School Caretaker | Islington (Secondary)
We are working with a high-achieving academy in Islington to recruit a diligent School Caretaker for a full-time, permanent position. The school is looking for a professional individual who can manage the diverse demands of a modern inner-city campus while ensuring that statutory compliance and safety standards are met to the highest degree.

The school is housed in a state-of-the-art building with excellent facilities, including a theatre and modern sports hall. It is a fast-paced, professional environment where high standards of cleanliness and maintenance are expected to reflect the school's academic prestige.
The Role This position involves a broad range of responsibilities, from porterage and furniture moving to managing external contractors. The caretaker will be a visible presence on site, assisting with the setup of halls for daily use and evening events. A key part of the role is maintaining the school’s compliance records, including fire alarm testing and water hygiene checks.
Requirements
Knowledge: Up-to-date understanding of health and safety regulations.
Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills to liaise with staff, pupils, and visitors.
Compliance: The school is unable to offer visa sponsorship; candidates must have the right to work in the UK. A valid enhanced DBS is required.
