Job Description:

Our purpose is to deliver energy to the world, today and tomorrow. For over 100 years, bp has focused on discovering, developing, and producing oil and gas in the nations where we operate. We are one of the few companies globally that can provide governments and customers with an integrated energy offering. Delivering our strategy sustainably is fundamental to achieving our ambition to be a net zero company by 2050 or sooner.

About the role:

Join our results-focused team with an inclusive, high-performance culture. In this role, you'll test, set up and integrate Industrial IoT devices, ensure connectivity, configure software, and support data communication. You'll participate in all phases of the Industrial IoT solution lifecycle - including implementation, testing, and security. You'll also work with cross-functional teams to achieve project goals. Our contributions directly advance key business priorities.

What you will deliver:

  • Integrate Industrial IoT systems with existing field networks, cloud platforms (like Azure, AWS), and other infrastructure.
  • Ensure reliable device network connections using protocols such as MQTT, Modbus, and OPC-UA.
  • Ensure seamless and efficient flow of data from devices to the cloud for analysis and decision intelligence.
  • Conduct end-to-end testing, debugging issues, and ensure the system meets security, performance, and reliability standards before and after deployment.
  • Research Industrial IoT solutions and vendors - test and document capabilities.
  • Create implementation package detailing end-to-end solution.
  • Create design in accordance with bp networks guidance.
  • Set up and configure device applications ensuring the software is correctly deployed, functional and meets end user needs.
  • Provide ongoing technical support and guidance to customers after the system is deployed.
  • Write and maintain documentation for product operating and testing procedures.
  • Generate and implement ideas for improving deployment processes and system performance.
What you will need to be successful:

  • Prior experience in the Oil & Gas industry or similar industrial and regulated setting is required.
  • Degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Experience with industrial machinery condition-based monitoring solutions.
  • Hands-on experience with Industrial IoT devices, configuring and integrating them.
  • Understanding of networking and digital security.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to explain and advocate goals/objective, team-oriented mentality with a highly developed collaborative leadership style.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and services, Azure and/or AWS (Desirable).
  • Familiarity with Robotics solutions such as crawlers/quadrupeds/drones (Desirable)
