Data Technician Apprentice

Location: Hammersmith, London, 5 days per week (minimum of 3 days per week in the office)

The Role:

Every product FitFlop sells exists in our systems as data long before it reaches a customer. Someone has to create that data, structure it correctly, and make sure it is right - because when it is wrong, the effects show up in pricing, in warehouses, at customs, and on the website.

That is what the Master Data team does, and this is a role for someone starting out who wants to learn it properly.

You will join a small team working at the centre of the business, in the systems that actually run it: NetSuite, our global enterprise resource planning (ERP) platform, and Snowflake, our enterprise data warehouse. These are industry-standard tools used by many data teams, and you'll start getting hands-on experience with them from your first month. Rather than spending months just observing, you'll have the opportunity to contribute to real pieces of work, build practical skills, and see how your efforts support the wider business.

You will report to the Head of Data, learn day to day from our Master Data Manager and Master Data Specialist, and have our Data Engineer as your technical mentor. You will also have regular check-in's with our Learning & Development Specialist who will also support you throughout your apprenticeship journey.

The Responsibilities:

Creating and maintaining the data:

• Create and maintain complex products in NetSuite and connected systems, working from established templates and procedures.

• Run the routine and seasonal data loads that keep our global product catalogue current and accurate.

• Support the master data ticket queue alongside the Master Data Specialist – logging requests, resolving straightforward ones, and keeping colleagues updated.

You will need to:

• Get into the habit of checking your own work. Taking the time to verify what you've done helps build the judgement and confidence this career relies on, and is a key part of developing strong data skills.

• Use completeness checks to support your work, whether that's through searches in NetSuite or queries in Snowflake, so you can be confident in the accuracy of what you're producing.

• When something doesn't look quite right, be curious and investigate. Understanding the issue, where it sits, and what impact it may have is an important part of the role.

• As your experience grows, you'll start to apply this thinking more broadly across different areas of the business, contributing to the quality and reliability of the reporting the team delivers.

Making it useful

• Build searches, extracts and reports that answer real questions from teams across the business.

• Work with data from Snowflake to produce summaries and analysis.

• Help capture how things are done, so the team’s knowledge is written down and shared.

• Present what you find in a way people can act on.

The Person:

• Interested in technology, data, and how businesses use them to make decisions.

• May have studied IT, Computer Science, Business, Technology or a related subject.

• Has shown initiative outside of education, whether through personal projects, problem-solving, or exploring new technologies.

• Most importantly, brings a positive attitude, a willingness to learn, and enthusiasm to grow with FitFlop.

• Excited to build a career in data and learn through an apprenticeship.

• Naturally curious and enjoys understanding how things work.

• Has strong attention to detail and likes to get things right.

• Organised, proactive, and comfortable asking questions when needed.

• Communicates clearly and works well with others.

You do not need any previous experience with data, and you do not need to have written a line of code. Bring the curiosity and we will build the rest.

Your Qualification:

Alongside your role at FitFlop, you'll work towards a Level 3 Data Technician Apprenticeship , giving you the opportunity to gain a recognised qualification while building valuable hands-on experience. Your apprenticeship learning will make up approximately 20% of your working week , combining structured study with practical application in your day-to-day role.
