CORE PURPOSE

We require an organized, proactive Senior Administration Officer to lead and coordinate essential administrative operations across our specialist setting. Operating within a dedicated Special Educational Needs (SEN) environment, the successful candidate will manage key administrative processes, maintain accurate management information systems (MIS), coordinate statutory SEN documentation, and provide high-level administrative support to senior leadership and therapy teams.

THE SCHOOL

A specialist 11–19 SEN academy located in Haringey, North London, catering to pupils with Speech, Language, and Communication Needs (SLCN) and Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC). The school operates with structured, trauma-informed administrative protocols managed in close alignment with senior leadership and multi-agency teams. The administration team works collaboratively in a calm, supportive environment using modern digital tools to ensureEHCP reviews, attendance tracking, and parent communications run seamlessly.

KEY TASKS & DAILY OPERATIONS

  • Administrative Coordination: Oversee daily office operations, delegate administrative tasks, and ensure reception and secretarial support meet the specialist needs of the school community.

  • EHCP & Statutory Compliance: Coordinate administrative processes for Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) annual reviews, liaising with local authorities, caseworkers, and external specialists.

  • MIS & Data Management: Maintain and update student records on the school MIS (e.g., SIMS or Arbor), ensuring accurate data entry, attendance reporting, and support with statutory census returns.

  • Multi-Agency Liaison: Handle sensitive internal and external communications with parents, therapy professionals, social care, and senior leadership.

  • Financial & Operational Admin: Assist with purchase orders, visitor compliance, safeguarding records, and ensuring administrative routines strictly adhere to GDPR regulations.

PROFILE REQUIREMENTS

  • Qualifications: Strong literacy and numeracy skills (GCSE Grade C/4 or equivalent in English and Mathematics). A relevant qualification in business administration or SEN administrative practice is desirable.

  • Experience: Proven administrative experience in a senior administrative or office leadership role, preferably within an SEN school, mainstream school, or social care setting.

  • Skills: High degree of empathy, excellent organizational skills, clear communication, and proficiency in ICT and school database systems.
