Pulse have recently partnered with one 7,000 of the leading healthcare providers. We are currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Band 5 Occupational Therapist to join our dynamic Occupational Therapy team. This team is an integral part of a larger health and wellbeing team within the prison, which includes psychology and occupational therapy staff, speech and language therapists, and substance misuse workers. You will contribute to the overall healthcare provision, providing comprehensive OT input across the Inpatient Ward, Wellbeing Centre, Neurodiversity Unit, and the wider prison environment.

Your main responsibilities as an Occupational Therapist:

You will conduct standardised assessments and interventions, providing detailed feedback to the therapies and multidisciplinary teams about clients’ abilities and future plans. You will actively contribute to the multidisciplinary team’s risk assessment process, ensuring agreement before engaging service users in therapeutic risk-taking activities. You will collaborate with other multidisciplinary team members to provide a coordinated care package. You will regularly review each service user’s progress to evaluate the effectiveness of treatment interventions and modify treatment plans as necessary. You will ensure the OT package of care is followed for all service users under your responsibility, including those you supervise. You will adhere to professional guidelines issued by the College of Occupational Therapy relevant to Forensic Psychiatry. You will manage a varied caseload and regular duties with effective time management skills. You will pursue continuous professional development and maintain a CPD portfolio.

What we are looking for in an Occupational Therapist:

• Is a qualified Occupational Therapist registered with the HCPC.
• You are a self-directed practitioner with strong time management skills.
• You have experience working with complex mental health problems, personality disorders, mood disorders, PTSD, trauma, ADHD, and autism spectrum disorders.
• You are committed to providing high-quality care and working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
