Senior Product Designer and Researcher

Opply
London

At Opply, we’re building the future of ingredient supply - empowering food & beverage brands to scale faster, smarter, and more sustainably. As we grow, design is becoming the bridge between our vision and the experience we deliver to thousands of buyers and suppliers.

We’re looking for a Senior Product Designer & Researcher to join our team - someone who can combine design thinking, storytelling, and a deep empathy for users to define how Opply looks, feels, and communicates across every touchpoint.

This role sits at the heart of the business, working closely with our leadership, product delivery and engineering teams, to shape the customer journey end to end - from first impression to daily use. You’ll be equally comfortable running user research sessions, designing product interfaces, and crafting visual assets that express our brand externally.

About Opply

There are currently 1 million SMB consumer goods brands ordering over $1Trillion of raw ingredients per year - imagine this was all ordered on one platform.

These brands all order separately today, and have small teams/order volumes which results in them wasting 70% stock, and getting ingredients at a 40% higher price than market rate.

Opply automates the entire F&B operations process through:

  1. An agentic operations pilot that sources, orders and manages all communications with suppliers

  2. Data-led financing that allows brands to sell their goods before they pay for the ingredients

  3. Partnering with the world's biggest suppliers, giving SMB's access to their pricing through an AI matching and forecasting proprietary model

We work with a lot of the most exciting brands and suppliers in this space, and are shaping innovation in a world that didn't have this before. If you're a trailblazer, come join us!

Who we are

We’re a close-knit team of 30, working across five time zones. We meet up every year to work, ideate and hang out (most recent trips have been to Finland, Prague and Ibiza)!

We’re VC-backed by Index Ventures, Anthemis, Chalfen Ventures and angels from unicorns like GoCardless, Flow.io and Trouva. We’ve already won StartUp of the Year for Tech Services and Supply Chain Specialists of the Year and we’re just getting started.

👉 If you want to grow fast, make an impact, and build something big from the ground up - Opply is the place.

What you’ll be doing

Find the next opportunities: Lead structured exploration and user research to uncover opportunities - from high-impact strategic bets to everyday experience improvements that make our product better and our customers happier.

Build a culture of user insight: Champion a research-first mindset across the company. Run studies, customer interviews, and usability tests, while helping others collect and interpret insights that influence key decisions.

Shape the full product experience: Define the standards for UX and UI across our products. You’ll ensure every interaction feels intuitive, consistent, and meaningful - translating Opply’s values into a seamless experience.

Elevate our look and feel: Own the evolution of Opply’s visual language and brand experience, ensuring everything we create - from our product UI to our marketing materials - reflects our ambition and purpose.

Represent our users: Centralise understanding of user needs across teams. Track satisfaction, map customer journeys, and surface insights that guide prioritisation and product strategy.

Turn insight into impact: Collaborate closely with engineers and the Product Delivery team to transform pain points and feedback into actionable design solutions. Balance technical feasibility with creativity to deliver elegant, effective outcomes.

Drive outcomes: Move fast with purpose - iterating quickly, balancing quality and speed to deliver improvements that make a real difference for our customers.

What experience you have

  • 5+ years experience designing digital products in a scaling startup or high-growth tech environment

  • A strong UX/UI portfolio showcasing design systems, user flows, and high-fidelity interfaces
