Senior / Lead Backend Engineers - Greenfield Fintech

Location: London

Salary: £95,000 - £140,000 + bonus

Our client is expanding its consumer fintech offering through a high-growth accelerator, focused on delivering a series of greenfield products to market. This is not a traditional transformation programme- these are brand-new builds, designed from the ground up, with a packed and ambitious technical roadmap ahead.

As part of this expansion, we are seeking Senior and Lead Backend Engineers who want to play a key role in shaping modern, scalable platforms and have a genuine impact from day one.

You’ll be working in fast-paced, collaborative squads, building cloud-native systems using modern engineering practices. The environment is data-driven, product-focused, and centred around delivering real value to customers.

Tech environment

• Java / Kotlin (JVM ecosystem)
• Microservices architecture
• Cloud-native (AWS / GCP)
• Spring / Spring Boot
• Docker & Kubernetes
• Messaging & streaming technologies
• Distributed tracing and observability tooling

What you’ll be doing

• Designing and building scalable, resilient distributed systems
• Contributing to architectural decisions across greenfield platforms
• Writing clean, secure, and maintainable code
• Ensuring high performance, reliability, and zero-downtime releases
• Collaborating in cross-functional squads and contributing to engineering best practices

• Strong backend engineering experience (Java/Kotlin preferred)
• Experience working with distributed systems and cloud technologies
• A problem-solving mindset with a focus on quality and ownership
• Comfortable working in fast-paced, evolving environments
• Passion for learning, collaboration, and building high-quality products
