An established and well-regarded three-form entry primary school in Barnet is seeking a full-time Year 4 Teacher to join their team from April 2026 on a maternity cover basis . The post will run for the duration of the maternity leave, with an exact end date to be confirmed.

Contract: Full-Time, Maternity Cover (fixed-term)
Salary: Competitive – MPS/UPS (dependent on experience)

The Role
The school is looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Year 4 Teacher to join a strong Key Stage 2 team. As part of a three-form entry structure, you will benefit from shared planning , established schemes of work , and the support of experienced colleagues .
Key responsibilities include:
- Planning and delivering engaging, high-quality lessons for Year 4 pupils.
- Assessing and tracking pupil progress to ensure all learners achieve their potential.
- Working collaboratively with parallel Year 4 teachers and the wider KS2 team to plan and share best practice.
- Creating a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment.
- Communicating effectively with parents and carers to support children’s learning and development.
Requirements
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) – no ECTs for this post.
- Proven experience teaching Key Stage 2 , ideally Year 4.
- Strong understanding of the KS2 curriculum and assessment frameworks.
- Excellent classroom management and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
- A commitment to high standards of teaching, learning, and pupil progress.
