Maternity Nurse

A high-level nightly maternity nurse role supporting first-time parents with complete overnight newborn care, feeding and sleep support during the early weeks.

Job Summary
This is a structured role suited to highly experienced maternity nurses who can provide calm, professional overnight support while working collaboratively with involved first-time parents.
A family are seeking highly experienced Nightly Maternity Nurse support following the arrival of their first baby in December. The family are looking to secure complete overnight coverage during the early weeks, with the primary focus being to ensure both parents are well rested and fully supported while establishing strong feeding and sleep foundations from the outset. As full weekly coverage is required, the family are open to different structures depending on the right candidates. This could include a rota arrangement such as one week on/off, or alternatively a split-week structure, for example a 5/2 arrangement across two maternity nurses. The role will involve working closely with hands-on parents who would value calm, knowledgeable professionals able to guide and support without taking over. The family are looking for experienced candidates who can integrate naturally into the home, providing consistent and discreet overnight care within a collaborative family environment. Bank holidays over Christmas will be off.

Candidate Specification
• Minimum 5–10 years’ newborn experience preferred
• Strong night maternity nurse experience essential
• Excellent knowledge of feeding routines, settling and sleep guidance
• Calm, discreet and professional in approach
• Comfortable working within a collaborative family environment
• Up-to-date DBS and Paediatric First Aid essential
• Excellent recent references required
