We’re looking for a Maintenance Assistant to join a friendly and dedicated Housing Services team, helping to ensure residents live in safe, comfortable environments across supported and older persons’ accommodation. This is a varied role where no two days are the same – from carrying out health and safety checks and fire alarm testing, to liaising with contractors, supporting residents, and maintaining high service standards.
🔧 What you’ll be doing
* Carrying out regular Health & Safety inspections in communal areas, gardens, and properties.
* Reporting and tracking repairs and maintenance issues, ensuring works are completed on time.
* Conducting fire safety checks, evacuation drills, and recording compliance actions.
* Monitoring the quality of cleaning, gardening, and estate services, raising any performance issues.
* Assisting with void property management – from inspecting and preparing empty homes to coordinating re-lets.
* Supporting residents and liaising with support providers to ensure everyone feels safe and cared for.
* Maintaining accurate records and contributing to performance reporting.

Essential skills & experience:
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
* Good understanding of Health & Safety responsibilities.
* Administrative experience and confident IT skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a supportive team.
* Full driving licence.
Desirable: Experience carrying out compliance or safety checks within housing or property settings.
