Business Development Key Account Manager

Join our International Business Development team as a Key Account Manager and support the Head of BD Expansion in driving growth across new channels, and the Custom Publishing team in expanding our business in Australia & New Zealand.

The Opportunity
Penguin Random House (PRH) is the largest trade book publisher in the world, known for our diverse and high-quality publications. We are seeking a dynamic and talented individual to join our International Business Development team as Key Account Manager.
We specialise in Brand Partnerships and Custom Publishing across the full PRH programme.
We have a global remit to find new ways to sell PRH books, and to create new content for international partners.
Key responsibilities:
- Use your commercial acumen to identify and capitalise on market opportunities.
- Stay informed about new trends and actively seek out new partnerships to enhance our business.
- Demonstrate an entrepreneurial mindset to drive innovative projects, and build new partnerships across a variety of industries.
- Apply your creative problem-solving skills to develop unique solutions and strategies to open new sales channels.
- Manage relationships with internal and external stakeholders effectively, ensuring their needs and expectations are met.
- Exhibit proactive behaviour in anticipating challenges and addressing them promptly.
- Demonstrate confidence with numbers, calculating costs and margins
- Show resilience in overcoming obstacles and maintaining a positive outlook. Be resourceful in finding solutions and optimizing processes.
- Maintain a high level of organization to manage multiple tasks and projects efficiently.
- Pay close attention to detail to ensure accuracy and quality in all work.
- Be open to the possibility of travel as required by the role.
What you’ll bring
Essential criteria:
- Solid commercial background in sales or retail
- Proven experience managing customer relationships and accounts.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a team, and the flexibility and adaptability to navigate changing environments.
- Exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Strong organisational and time management abilities
- A solution-oriented mindset with a resilient and investigative approach

Salary
Circa £35,000 dependent on how your skills and experience align to the role, plus bonus and benefits.
Hybrid workingWhile our offices across the UK are places to connect, collaborate and celebrate with colleagues, we recognise that flexibility around where you work is just as important. For this role we expect that you will work from our office in London three days per week.
