Recruitment Partner, Centralised Nursing & Campaigns
Job overview
The post holder will provide specialist resourcing expertise, working with the Head of Recruitment Operations to develop and deliver the Trust’s national, international and graduate attraction strategy. This role will also act a senior manager overseeing high volume centralised nursing recruitment team and supporting operational delivery of the recruitment service.
As a recruitment specialist, the post holder will bring a wealth of recruitment experience, creativity and passion to develop The Trust’s recruitment brand and ensure we are working at the cutting edge of best recruitment practice.
Main duties of the job
The key output for this role will be the increased number of candidates joining the pipeline and improved speed and efficiency of process to reduce the overall time to hire. The post holder will lead the social media and marketing elements of recruitment – including training and supporting teams to generate the best adverts and making use of the recruitment brand in the most effective way.
Efficient and effective on boarding on our new joiners requires multiple teams to work together. The post holder will lead this for all centralised nursing high-volume recruitment, ensuring the process is clear and supportive for our international and graduate new joiners. The post holder will also lead a programme of new joiner engagement to better understand the experience of our new starters and identify what can be improved.
The post holder will support the Head of Recruitment Operations in improving efficiencies through innovation, contributing to the development and growth of the service and creation as a centre of excellence for recruitment and resourcing. The post holder will play a key role in supporting strategic service development and commercial growth.

Main Duties and Responsibilities
Recruitment Expertise
- Effectively plan for the delivery of recruitment campaigns and initiatives to agreed establishments and projected resourcing workforce forecasts.
- Understand the Trusts Nursing strategy and lead on centralised nursing campaigns and BAU end to end recruitment.
- Identify where resourcing challenges represent a business risk and to support the development of appropriate project plans and strategies to increase efficiency and to mitigate risk.
- Provide specialist advice, share industry knowledge, skills and expertise on resourcing issues, including applicant attraction strategy/branding, marketing, social media, on boarding, promotion of a positive candidate and hiring manager experience, and best practice in the recruitment and selection of staff.
- Support and promote the Recruitment policy and procedures; ensuring compliance across the Trust, in order achieve and embed fair, equitable and transparent recruitment practices.
- To promote the use of digital and online channels in order to source potential candidates (e.g. social media platforms and professional networks)
- To provide coaching and support to hiring managers in the development of job descriptions, shortlisting criteria and interview questions that reflect each position’s requirements
- To provide support and expertise in the organisation of recruitment events and to attend job fairs where required. To monitor and take action to ensure that appropriate focus and management action is being taken to plan, progress and complete recruitment activity to ensure that vacancies are being prepared for and filled in a timely way.
- Work within a delegated recruitment advertising budget of £250,000 to ensure the delivery of national and international recruitment campaigns for large-scale Trust-wide recruitment projects with a view to ensuring the Trust achieves its overarching recruitment strategy
- Be responsible for the day to day delegated management of the Trust’s c.£2.5m international recruitment budget, covering international recruitment (via a third party), onboarding and accommodation.
- Share cutting edge recruitment and attraction developments with the team to ensure we are maximizing opportunities.
- Ensure that all adverts and advertising material are written in the best way to promote the Trust and attract more people to apply.
- Design and set up manager user groups to engage managers in the recruitment and attraction processes, seek feedback and share updates and developments.
- Design and deliver new joiner experience surveys and focus groups to learn from recruitment and on boarding experiences to celebrate success and inform improvements.
- Partner with the People Business Partners, Care Groups and Corporate Departments to collaborate on designing campaigns focusing on hard to recruit areas.
- Work with the Equality, Diversity and Inclusion team to ensure that best practice on inclusive recruitment is adopted and well communicated
- To provide and analyse system and management data and to produce management reports in respect of recruitment activity, identifying trends, highlighting risks, exceptions and areas of concern in respect of SLA performance, as well as making recommendations for remedial action.
- To lead on projects and initiatives that will develop and promote the King’s employment brand so that the Trust becomes a top employer of choice.
Service Management and Improvement
- To support, develop and implement innovative initiatives that will increase the efficiency, compliance and service quality of the People Operations Recruitment function, including reducing time to hire.
- Through promotion of excellent customer service and regular supportive communication with applicants, support a positive and efficient applicant experience throughout the recruitment journey
- To monitor the centralised nursing team’s performance proactively against service level agreements to ensure that the recruitment service meets quality, contractual, compliance and other standards, implementing appropriate actions to rectify any breaches.
- To work in a collaborative and supportive way with internal colleagues and other stakeholders to ensure the best possible experience is delivered for our customers and provide support to other teams at times of peak demand.
- Support a customer-focused commercial service ensuring that systems and processes reflect the needs of service users and are continually adapted in response to changes in service requirements

- To provide expert advice on resourcing data and compliance with all statutory and governance requirements for recruitment purposes.
- To ensure compliance with legal regulatory and best practice obligations in respect of storage of personal information, right to work, safeguarding, information governance etc., Will develop recruitment processes that that effective compliance and governance.
- To undertake regular local audits and reporting and to support Trust internal audits in order to be able to monitor performance and compliance, analysing data to inform and enable highly effective, operational and strategic management of the service.
- To engage in continual service improvement, monitoring, measuring, reporting and taking appropriate action to ensure team capability developed to ensure a highly responsive and professional service.
- To ensure that service users are able to influence service delivery by acting on user feedback and evaluating processes, procedures and policies with the aim of providing a better user experience in accordance with policies, procedures and service level agreements.
Stakeholder Management
- To develop robust and collaborative working relationships with key stakeholders within the wider organisation, including Senior Directors, Heads of Service, General Managers, HR Business partners and managers; taking an active role in influencing and supporting stakeholders to meet their operational objectives through effective resource planning and recruitment service delivery.
- To develop internal and external networks to ensure that best practice is applied within the organisation, maximising networking opportunities for technical development and innovation.
- To interpret and communicate complex, sensitive and, if required, contentious information to senior management, managers, staff and other stakeholders at staff briefings and management meetings.
- To actively promote equal opportunities, fairness and inclusion through best practice, monitoring, training and evaluation.
- Lead on the centralised nursing recruitment strategy in partnership with the Executive Nursing Team
Ad-Hoc
- To keep informed of the wider NHS agenda, changes in legislation and new developments that are applicable to recruitment services, cascading to applicable team, Trust Managers and other stakeholders as appropriate.
- To support appropriate training and development of the Recruitment Teams.

People Management and Performance
- Lead, coach and manage the performance of the centralised nursing team in line with good people management practices. Ensuring excellence is recognised and underperformance is addressed.
- Participate in regular performance appraisal meetings and ensure each member of the team has a clear set of objectives and development plans.
- Ensure the team is compliance with all statutory, mandatory training together with any professional training requirements, ensuring they are up to date and fully compliant.
- Manage team absences including sickness in line with Trust policy ensuring the appropriate return to work meetings occur, e-roster is updated and productivity is at keep to the highest possible level.
- Identify and fill any vacancies that arise within the team in line with the Trust’s recruitment policy and process.
- Identify talent and support the internal talent management process in order attract and retain and succession plan for your people.
- Review skills mix at regular intervals in order to identify any potential opportunities to maximise resource utilisation / allocation, ensuring job descriptions are kept up to date.
- Ensure overall wellbeing of the team is maintained. Continuously support in improving the morale of the team and implementing a culture of zero-tolerance for bullying and harassment.

Essential criteria
- Business/ HR Degree, CIPD qualified or equivalent experience
Knowledge and Experience
Essential criteria
- Significant expertise in end-to-end recruitment including recruitment, selection and manager and candidate experience
- Experience delivering HR and recruitment campaigns and initiatives within budgetary constraints.
- Significant experience in managing service development and delivering workforce strategy.
- Extensive experience of and an expert user of recruitment ATS, e.g. TRAC
