A forward-thinking sustainability consultancy is seeking a passionate and technically excellent Principal Whole Life Carbon Consultant to join their growing team. This is a leadership opportunity to drive forward impactful work on carbon reduction, guiding clients across real estate and development through the transition to net zero.

As a Principal, you'll lead on Whole Life Carbon assessments, embed low-carbon design principles, and provide strategic advice to clients. You'll also play a pivotal role in mentoring junior team members, developing service lines, and representing the consultancy externally as a thought leader in carbon management.



What you'll do
Lead the delivery of Whole Life Carbon assessments and Embodied Carbon analysis on projects across multiple sectors.
Use industry-standard tools such as OneClick LCA to calculate and report carbon impacts.
Collaborate with design teams and clients to influence low-carbon strategies from early-stage concept design through delivery.
Stay at the forefront of industry developments, including the UK Net Zero Carbon Buildings Standard and RICS methodologies.
Mentor and support junior consultants, providing technical guidance and career development.
Contribute to business development by supporting bids, proposals, and client presentations.
Represent the consultancy at industry events, contributing to thought leadership and sector innovation.

About you
Significant experience in Whole Life Carbon and Embodied Carbon consultancy.
Strong knowledge of OneClick LCA (or similar carbon modelling tools).
Familiarity with UK standards and best practice guidance (RICS, LETI, GLA, UKGBC).
Confident communicator, able to influence design decisions and present to clients and stakeholders.
Leadership skills, with prior experience mentoring or managing junior colleagues.
Passionate about sustainability, carbon reduction, and driving the net zero agenda.
