Underwriting Assistant
Robert Half are assisting UK's market leading insurance organisation to recruit a Underwriting Assistant on an initial 8 month contract
Role:
Administrative Support
- The Underwriting Assistant will process application information for new and renewing clients in a timely and accurate manner.
- Ensure each application is complete and, where appropriate, verify the information before submission to underwriters.
- Prepare documentation such as renewal invitations, quotations, counter-indemnities, bonds, and policies.
- Maintain accurate client files and database records, ensuring all data is current and complete.
- Handle membership and bonding enquiries and applications for new and existing clients.
Customer Service
- Provide a high level of customer care, assisting prospective and existing clients with all aspects of their applications.
- Respond promptly and knowledgeably to client enquiries, following up and resolving outstanding issues.
- Liaise with brokers to update them on the status of applications and renewals.
Monitoring & Compliance
- Monitor the receipt and verification of client declarations.
- Review client-facing materials such as websites, invoices, and brochures to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and policy terms.
Marketing Support
Assist with the promotion of company products and services as needed.
Profile:
- The Underwriting Assistant will have excellent administrative and organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Confident communicator with a customer-first mindset.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines under minimal supervision.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and experience handling databases or CRM systems.
- Prior experience in underwriting, insurance administration, or financial services is beneficial but not essential.
